We did a brief colour workshop before starting the ‘Leaning from a steep slope’ project, to get us thinking a bit about how to use colour in our work.
I’ve always really loved using colour in my work, and its something I’m quite comfortable with, so I really enjoyed doing this workshop and the project itself.
These two images are from a larger sheet, that I did as part of an exercise in making a variety of colours using only combinations of red and blue. The idea was to create different variations on those base colours either by mixing them together or by layering them on the page or just however really.
Once we’d done this, we chose a few favourites from each set of colours and did them in a grid like this, to see what they were like next to each other and on a bigger scale.
Its really satisfying to look at I think.
